Please include your address and a contact number. Please be reminded that all current members are volunteers and are unpaid for any work they do. Pothwar.com is purely a non profit making organisation providing a service to the largely global pothwari community. We have never benefited in any financial way directly or indirectly from running this website. In fact, many members absorb operational costs (this might I add runs into thousands of pounds every year) in running the website. This, we are proud to say, is one of the main reasons we are so successful and it allows us to run an unbiased and free service. All members are committed and are proud volunteers, some for many years. We welcome people from all over the world to take part in community work especially our sisters as we only have one female member of staff at present. It has been necessary to add the below prerequisites so that people can see at a glance what is required, as we have learnt from previous experiences that these posts are not for everybody.

Prerequisites

In order to be considered as a suitable voluntary member, you must have a genuine interest in community work and have some concerns about the global pothwari community. The community will benefit from your skills in working with the website and you will benefit by gaining new skills and experience. Therefore, we kindly request that the following prerequisites are met to make it easier to do your tasks.

Due to the varied work & because we are internet based, you must fulfil the following.

·         First and foremost, you must be familiar with the pothwari culture, traditions and language, and be a “community person” or have morals and values that will highlight you as a “peoples person”

·         It is also important to be conversant in English as well as Urdu & the Pothwari dialect to fluent level.

·         You must be computer literate, have a PC and access to the internet and be able to use the internet as well as email and possess a mobile phone.

·         A good knowledge of technology would be highly desired as this would be beneficial in the use of digital cameras, scanners, printers, camcorders, internet search engines, youtube & photo editing software etc.

·         Above all you must be a proactive person who wants to do things and contribute in a positive way.

After your initial term  . . . .

After your initial term of three calendar months or twelve weeks, you will be expected to fulfil your role on an ongoing basis.

In addition to the above, while volunteering for the website, we ask:

·         That you are not involved or take any other posts with a similar company/organisation which would present a conflict of interest with the post at Pothwar.com.

·         If you are in a reporting post, we ask that your feedback and reports remain checked for accuracy and consistency.

·         Depending on the nature of the report or information relayed back to the website, we ask that the information is not biased in any way in the content and/or for self gain or for an organisation which may be private/public or politically orientated.

·         If while you are a member of Pothwar.com, you are paid a wage or receive a gift from a person or organisation, we only ask that you declare the benefit so that we are aware. Should we be questioned by a third party then we need to be aware beforehand. This is in particular, in your interest, as well as the website, for the purpose of transparency and the basic fact that we are not a profit making organisation.

·         Members agree to hold confidential, proprietary information and/or trade secrets in trust and confidence and agree that it shall be used only for the contemplated purposes in respect of www.pothwar.com. The information shall not be used for any other purpose or disclosed to any third party knowingly or otherwise.

·         Originals or copies of any materials or any written information or prototypes including written notes, photographs, sketches, models, memoranda or notes taken without the permission to be returned to the original owner.

·         Items that have been supplied for publication, once published cannot be removed from the website.
