 Islamic Relief (IR) is an international relief and development charity, which aims to alleviate the suffering of the world’s poorest people. It is an independent Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) founded in the UK in 1984 by Dr Hany El Banna.

What does Islamic Relief do?

As well as responding to disasters and emergencies, Islamic Relief promotes sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities - regardless of race, religion or gender.

Islamic Relief works in four main sectors:
- Emergency Relief, Development, Orphans, Waqf

 

Where does Islamic Relief work?

IR currently has field offices in Afghanistan, Albania, Bangladesh, Bosnia, Chechnya, China, Egypt, Kosova, Indonesia, Mali, Pakistan, Palestine, and Sudan, and carries out further projects in Ethiopia Jordan, Kenya, India, Iraq Somalia, and Yemen.

 

Volunteering with Islamic Relief:

 We have two main assets that have enabled us to mak progress in our work. These are namely a team of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly and selflessly and secondly the millions of generous donors that exist worldwide.

Our volunteer family has steadily grown over the past years. With the help of our army of volunteers we hold fundraising events, campaign activities and awareness programmes. Some of the examples of our events :

Who am I?
My name is Habib Malik s/o Haji Moahmmed Siddique, Village Pehr Hali, Choha Khalsa and my tehsil is Kallar Sayden.
 
I have been with Islamic Relief (UK) since 2003. I use to be incharge of Islamic Relief( Scotland) but at present I am National Fundraising Manager for IR UK.
 
During my employment with IR i have worked in Sudan, Niger, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Kashmir, Pakistan, and Lebanon.
