No,732-2004/u-31/432-DIR(R&G).In exercise of the powers conferred upon him under section 6 of the Punjab land revenue act 1967(west Pakistan act xvii of 1967)and in suppression of all the previous/orders in this behalf the governor of the Punjab is pleased to order that the RAWALPINDI DISTRICT shall be divided in to tehsils/sub divisions specified in column no 1 with headquarters in column no 2 and the revenue estate mentioned in column 3 respectively of the appended schedule with effect from 01.07.2004.

Historical Information

On July 1st 2004, Kallar Syedan was announced 7th tehsil of district Rawalpindi, Kallar Syedan is historical place, government records go back to 1200 years of history, their are three theories of how Kallar Syedan got its name Kallar Syedan, one is that their was well known (buzarag) his name was Killo shah and from Killo shah it became Kallar Syedan with time. the second view is that their were two famous brothers in kallar one was bela rai and killo rai. bewal was named after bela rai and kallar was named after killo rai,and the third view is that kallar was wasteland a jungle and all the wells in the area were (kharra) term used for rough water, even now the wells in tehsil kallar syedan are majority kharra, so that is how kallar came out of kharra term, near Ramazan karyana shop their is a tall building which has department stores which at one time had been used has government offices. also their is mahal called bedi mahal which at the height of Sikh rule in Punjab belonged to two brothers baba khem singh bedi and baba gor Khushi Bedi . also near kallar Dhok master Karamat Hussain their is a well which is over a thousand year old, in morra pind their are dozens of historical places  found.
tehsil Kallar Syedan total area 103889 acres and 3 kanal 3 marla.
population 1million 90 thousand people. 23 patwars. 1 police station. 7 union councils. literacy rate 62%. 99 revenue estates. the famous people of tehsil Kallar are ex chief of army staff General Tikka khan. Cheif of naval staff Abdul Aziz Mirza . in sconce their are DR a Majeed, DR Basit Shah now in America, DR Riffat Raja, Dr a Hussain was in charge of NASA space shuttle in 1998, DR a Hussain previously worked with European space agency fpr 18 years DR Hussain sadly passed away two years ago.
